Buffalo Knights Join the Golden Knights Family

The Golden Knights Youth Athletics organization is proud to announce that the Buffalo Knights will be joining the Golden Knights family as we continue to grow our program, expand opportunities for young athletes, and build a unified foundation for youth football and cheer in our community.

This transition represents more than two organizations coming together. It is a meaningful step toward strengthening the experience we provide for our athletes, families, and coaches. Both programs share a commitment to discipline, development, mentorship, sportsmanship, and creating an environment where young people can grow on and off the field.

As the Buffalo Knights roll into the Golden Knights family, our focus is simple: to welcome every athlete, parent, and coach with care, respect, and clarity. We understand that youth sports are deeply personal to families. Team names, coaches, routines, relationships, and trust all matter. That is why this transition will be handled thoughtfully, with an emphasis on communication, continuity, and making every family feel valued throughout the process.

Golden Knights President and Head Coach Jericho Harris shared his excitement about welcoming the Buffalo Knights into the organization:

“I have known Coach Jacob Carrillo for years, and my son had the opportunity to train with him during his own development as an athlete. I have always respected Coach Jacob’s commitment to the kids, his passion for teaching the game, and the relationships he has built with families over the years. Because of that history and mutual respect, welcoming Coach Jacob, his athletes, and the Buffalo Knights families into the Golden Knights family felt like a natural and meaningful next step. This is not about replacing one identity with another. It is about bringing people together, honoring the work that has already been done, and continuing to build something stronger for our children and our community.”

Coach Jacob “Jake” Carrillo also shared a heartfelt message with the Buffalo Knights families and the Golden Knights community:

“I have had the privilege of coaching and mentoring youth athletes for over six years, and it has been one of the greatest blessings of my life to make an impact in the lives of these young athletes and their families. When my wife and I created the Buffalo Knights organization, we did so because we wanted to provide a safe, trustworthy organization for the families who have remained steadfast and loyal in trusting me and my fellow coaches with the growth of their young athletes.

When the opportunity was presented to bring the two organizations together, I thought long and hard. In the end, my decision was not about names or logos. It was about creating the best experience possible for young athletes and their families. I have known Coach Jericho Harris for many years, and I wholeheartedly believe that our core values align. He has formed an organization that believes in developing young athletes the same way we do, and that is something you cannot manufacture.I am excited for what this partnership means, not just for our players, but for our coaches, families, and the entire community. By joining forces, we are creating something stronger than either organization could build alone. To my Buffalo Knights family, I love you, and I thank you for remaining a backbone and foundation for what is to come.
You remain deep in my heart, and I thank you for trusting in me and the coaching staff over the years. To the Golden Knights family, the Buffalo Knights thank you for the warm welcome and for treating us as family from day one. Much respect to everyone I have had the pleasure to meet during this transition. We cannot wait to see where we all go from here. The excitement is there, the work ethic is present, and our core values are second to none. One Family. One Purpose. One Team.”— Coach Jake

For Golden Knights families, this growth reflects the continued momentum of the organization as we prepare for our inaugural season. The addition of Buffalo Knights athletes, families, and coaches will strengthen our numbers, deepen our community reach, and bring even more energy into the Golden Knights program.

For Buffalo Knights families who are already registered, the Golden Knights will be reaching out directly to assist with converting registrations over to the Golden Knights. Our goal is to make the process as smooth and straightforward as possible. Families will receive communication regarding next steps, important dates, and any information needed to complete the transition.

The Golden Knights also want to recognize and thank the Buffalo Knights families for their trust during this process. Every athlete who joins our organization becomes part of a larger mission: to develop confident young people, build lasting relationships, and create a program that families are proud to represent.

As we move forward, the Golden Knights are excited to welcome the Buffalo Knights into this next chapter. Together, we will continue building a culture rooted in hard work, unity, respect, and pride.

One family. One purpose. One team.

Welcome to the Golden Knights family.
